I've noticed many people are saying they don't understand the concept of this flash. To that I say that's half the point. The other half is half as confusing as the first. Heh. Sometimes I feel I'm on the same wave lengths as you as far as thinking goes and wondering/designing how the world is put together in unknown sources.

At any rate, this was very well done, more so as far as concept is concerned. The actual flash quality and design can be improved, such as a few sticky animated portions and bad sound quality. I don't mean when you meant to make the vocals and sounds fade around and get bizarre, I'm talking about instances where we couldn't hear the character's narration because your background music was too loud, and some other cases. But I liked the sound crossings and how his sentences would fade into others, very creative, well done.

As far as the meaning behind this whole thing: I've got my own interpretation of it all, and I feel that's part of what you want people to do, but also, I believe I understand things you're saying as well. Not all of course. No one will ever know the deepest things hidden in works such as these, sometimes not even the creators.

Good work though. Pretty creepy, pretty insightful, pretty pretty.

That's Not Satan..

Story, logic, and design wise, this flash movie doesn't make any sense. Mainly because Satan would never want to do anything like that. You DO know who Satan is right? What he stands for? How evil he actually is? Christmas is the day we celebrate the birth of Christ, the redeemer. Do you actually think Satan would be jumping for joy, wanting to help spread good cheer around Christmas? ...No, he hates Christmas and he hates Christ and hates joy, and hates making little children happy and blah blah blah all that corny stuff. He wants nothing more than to see you burn, to see those kids suffer and tortured endlessly. Sound cruel? Thats Satan.

I agree what others have been saying. This is more so a little imp or a demon seeking love and acceptance. That makes more sense to me and actually makes the story more touching. But with Stan? I almost felt like you were promoting him. Which sounds...loving and all but, I dunno, it is very awkward. Of course you have to right to say or represent whatever you want. It did have a good message overall.

Everything else, graphics, sound, was all pretty good. Above average suits it well for a description. I gave you low style points though for that whole Satan stuff. It was just very awkward watching this movie and felt very condradictory overall. It gets you thinking though, which is good but at the same time you're sitting there blinking at the unrealism. Half and half, its balanced in negative and postive points but a pretty good movie, so I give this is a solid 6.

Black-Crystal responds:

Nobody knows whether if satan exist or not. Satan is just a name to me which is the same as 'hell'. These names are just tools that are used to control people through their fears.

Actually i am not promoting satan, you can see that satan and santa are quite similar names but one is good and the other is evil. I just felt that it is a pretty interesting point to me since both are red and special and making satan pretending to be santa for the sake of wanting to be loved is what christmas is all about. You accept and love people on christmas.

Your All Grammarz R Belongst To Its

Haha, well at first I thought you were being creative with your dialogue until I read your profile and discovered you weren't trying to mess around, but be serious.. however this in turn had a unique effect.

Number one, I love mechs. I naturally had a little attraction to your film because of your characters theme. But I can't really say I like Bionicle.. Regular Legos are cool though.. Anyway back on subject, your flash was unique in a good way because of your messy english. It gave a more believable feeling that they were robots from another world. Naturally, anything from another world would talk different than we do yet base they're language on their creators. (Granted those creators were english speaking humans.) I don't know it just made me feel like I was actually looking into the events of another world, trying to understand the language yet at the same time comprehending the communication. Its one of the few flashes I've seen where communication is transfered indirectly yet somehow clearly. I was going to give you a ton of props for it..er..until I realized what really happenend.

So now I have to decide if I'd be giving you too much credit for congratulating you for doing such a wacked up job and making a mess. Well when I put it that way, I like the sound of it. Yeah, I think I will. Congrats on your screw up. Hope to see you friggen crap up some more in the future! You make a train wreck look good. And that's something to be proud of.

Back From The Graveyard?

Funny, I remember blaming this submission just last night. Trying to see if your flash can stand a chance this time? Hah..

actually, it was deleted by the administrator because he thought we were trying to flood the portal, when we actually had permission from the other administrator. It would have passed with a fair score.

Can You Say Shoo Fly?

Hehe, that's what comes to mind when I watch this. Hey, you and John Su should do a collab together. Both your characters will just be chasing a fly around the whole episode! ><;

Anyways, just like the others I think this flash is smooth and awesome. I laughed a few times. I've been on here everytime you've submitted a Baka-san episode and I've helped protect them all. I guess my only complaint for you to improve upon would be Baka-san's body structure. When he moves (or even when he's holding still) I always see little white specks and on his body. Some times there between his joints and stuff. It looks as if his parts and just his body in general aren't together all the way, because the background is revealed through him and it gives this sparkily effect that doesn't look good at all. I can find it kinda distracting.

I also notice that these are all titled "Baka-san Short". When are going to get to see a full? Anyway, nice job as always. Keep it up.

El-Cid responds:

Thanks for the feedback and props ^-^.

I'll keep what you said in mind about his look. I actually went back and filled in the first short a bit, but it still has it's original sketchy look.

I originally wanted it that way, and I could revert back to that style, but I'm keeping an open mind to feedback from the viewers. So thanks for yours.

And as far as a full length Baka-san: I've got something in mind, but he won't be the lead character. Should be fun methinks.

*sighs*

I see you didn't really take to mind any of the advice that I gave you last time, except for maybe improved graphics. That was probably the only single difference I saw. Sure, you might've made some more but if it's not obvious to a viewer then it's as if you've done nothing. You need to make dramatic differences. Those make impacts and give you higher scores. With a little effort you can get there.

Please, please, pay attention here while I rant about music. Do you recall what I said about your choice of music last time? If the music doesn't match the style, then don't use it. Your music selection for this flash was poor. Defcon Zero is an awesome song, true, but don't waste it on this. It needs something else. And again, just like last time, you didn't loop the song properly. You just ran it until the song cuts off like usual. That sounds bad. You're supposed to loop. My point: Just because you like a song doesn't mean it belongs in a flash and here's why. Music will effect the viewers mood more than anything else in a flash. If your music is doing one thing, while our flash is doing another (as far as style and mood goes) then what you have on your hands is a conflict and the viewer doesn't get the same kind of impact. Defcon Zero is a song that slowly builds up to a climax. Did your flash do that? No. Defcon Zero is a song with a fast paced beat, one that gets a person pumped. Did your flash emphasize that? No. I could go on and on about it but I wont. Pleease either change your flash to match, or don't use it at all. And as far as Pirates goes...oh heck I guess that could stay, I dunno, but the least you could do is find a better quality version. I know you got it from some other guy and its his fault that its crappy, but its your fault that you put it in there.

The last set of suggestions I'm going to give is make the puppets...I dunno...entertaining? If you've gotta tell the viewers to watch the whole thing because you don't think it's that great to watch then something is wrong. Put some action in there man. How about voices? How about character? How about (this might sound crazy) story?

This flash has some potential, and I like where it's going. You've got a brilliant idea. Seriously, if you take into consideration everything I've suggested this will be great. Good luck.

IZSBHR responds:

OK, but people on DA loved the music. This has quite the fanbase elseware. But I'll take these into consideration, K? P.S. the sequel has voices.

You barely passed

Only your graphics and animation saved you, but your content is crappy, which is why you get low style points. Clocks seem to lack style.

I actually would really like to blam this but I'm honest in my judging. This barely got by.

OffEgg responds:

how do i flash?

Something Thats Not Clock Related!!!

Oh Savior! You have brought hope to my eyes!!! I voted protection for this, heck, I don't care what it is, I didn't even watch the whole dang thing, I don't care! It's NOT a clock!!! I love you! Bringing sanity to us all!

Awesome Experimental

I liked the style of this very much. It reminded me of the experimental genre. Tell me, where did you get your inspiration for this? Just something you thought up one day? A dream? A video game? I liked the spanish thing going on there too. It added to the unique style. That's why you got a lot of style points from me. The music was awesome and it fit everything really well. "By The Grace of God" is an awesome song, and the whole scene where it was playing with the flash back and all was really cool. Keep it up, you got a new fan.

Eustaquio-Man responds:

Thanks, dude!
The idea came pretty much from my first flash, "Güey VS. Monstruo" (Guy VS. Monster), which, as a matter of fact, got blammed an hour after I submitted it. A crappy, stick-based version of the Weird Spider appeared there, only as a bad guy. Then, thanks to the awesome power of daydreaming combined with doodling, I gradually came up with everything else.
Just like that.
At first I figured almost nobody would understand the text if I wrote it in spanish, but I really wanted to do it that way, so I settled for Spanish text and lil' subtitles.
I agree, "By The Grace Of God" is pretty good, but sincerely, I just picked it up by chance. Seeing it fit the animation well, I left it there.
Thanks for the long review! If this makes it through the dark bowels of Portal Judgement, please submit to the Experimental collection.

Wow..

That sucked. But don't worry so does 50 cent, so it matched up perfectly. Good combination. Crappy flash with crappy wanna-be singer. I gave you a humor point because the horror of this movie gave me a small chuckle. That's how bad it was. But hey, I liked the song that played at the beginning. It didn't match 50 cent, but oh well. It's better that way.
